Slipmill is one type of VR treadmill used to move around in virtual reality. The user stands on top of a concave slippery surface and is most often attached around the waist or hip to prevent falling over. The user require special shoes or attachment to the shoes which ensures the low friction when walking or running within the parabolic disc surface, and also to track the direction and velocity of the user as a form of input to the virtual experience.
